View from the top

I am going to be posting a series of pictures over the next couple of days. I took this pictrure from my front yard. The arrow is pointing to a house we can see from ours. That house is located on what is called "Big Ridge". That particular house is 4 miles from our house as the crow flies. Of course the distance is much greater traveling over the road. Our house is located on a much smaller, nameless ridge with what is known as "Middle Valley" in between the two houses. Since we can see this house from ours, my husband and I took a ride to find that house to see if we could see ours. We could see our subdivision (binocculars are needed to see the actual house) plus the spot they've been clearing for a new subdivision.

Tomorrow I'll post the picture that shows our subdivision and then the spot they've been clearing. Not as nice of a tour as Nuno's stairway tour on his Porto Daily Photo. If you haven't taken Nuno's stairway tour you should. It's wonderful!

hi carol and thanks for the compliments, nevertheless don't say "Not as nice ..." because you have a wonderful big green view , beauty is everywhere for those who enjoy life, like us;)

Thank you, Nuno. I guess the place where we live doesn't seem as nice or exotic because we see it everyday. I have noticed that since doing the Daily Photo, I've come to appreciate my surroundings more.

Nice neighborhood, Carol! Love all the trees.

I understand what you're saying about feeling your surroundings are ordinary, but to someone else far away, they might seem very exotic indeed. That realization was very much imprinted on me when I went to live in Togo, West Africa, for two years.

DP is great because it motivates us to seek out and show others what makes our home towns unique.
