Woodpecker

I was taking some pictures near the North Chickamauga Creek today and heard a woodpecker. I looked up and this really pretty red-headed woodpecker was in the tree above my head. I managed to get a picture of it before it flew away. Unfortunately I don't have a telephoto lens but if you click on the picture you can see it much better and see the nice red color.

Howdy neighbor! I will driving right through Chattanooga later today. I've driven through there probably hundreds of times because it it between my home and my parents but I've never once been into Chattanooga as an adult! Can you believe it? I've heard the downtown is nice though.

Anyway, I'll wave from I-24!

And blue skies: we are pretty lucky as they are common in "our neck of the woods" aren't they?

Oh, and have you ever considered taking some photos of monteagle (from 24)? It is really beautiful...the rock faces and how the small waterfalls freeze in place. I've seen and admired it many times but it wasn't until a good friend of mine traveled through Tennessee and remarked how beautiful it is that I REALLY noticed.

But I guess it would be dangerous to pull over there wouldn't it?
