Strange bird


I don't know what these are called but I've seen a few of them around. I took this one as it wandered around a neighbor's yard. My son said he thinks people have them to eat bugs. Maybe someone will know what they are called.

Bob could be right. At first I thought it might have been a pheasant but they have longer tails.

I hope someone comes up with the answer.

They're actually called...
Guinea Fowl and they eat the ticks in the yard during the summer.

All my in-laws have them on their properties to help with the tick problems out in the "country"
It's pretty cool thing. lol

Definitely an odd looking bird. Glad to know the mystery is solved. I wonder if Guinea Fowl are tasty.

When I use to visit my great-grandmother in East Texas, she had a neighbor who had these. They called them peafowls.
