Big brother is watching
The police now have a camera at this intersection to catch people going through the red light. The person in charge of sending out the tickets to violators said she gets a lot of calls from lots of angry people. She said she views each tape very carefully (and more than once) before sending out the tickets. I go by here every day and I still see people speeding through the red light. They must think they won't get caught.

They have them in France for speeding and they are all over the place. Been caught twice and its dam expensive!!! But hey, if the saves lives.

we have a lot of those cams, for speeding and for red lights. Been caught, and with the fine, you receive your "speeding" photo as well....
Yup, have them here too. The cameras take 4 views of you and your car. I have a friend that received the notice and it wasn't her in the photo, but it was her car. There is a place on the notice where you can say, "It wasn't me!"

Interesting comments- in NZ it is the owner of the car that is liable for fines from photos. Having your photo taken also adds an extra dimension to driving- means smiling when going through intersections, and checking the lipstick before reaching the camera!

We have them also in our town. We also have those so-called motion cameras that are suppose to make traffic flow better by detecting the number of cars coming from a certain direction. However, I notice there are times when I'm sitting there all alone with absolutely no traffic anywhere...and me just sitting there. Waiting.
